Watling secures job abroad

Whitley Bay will be losing striker Peter Watling next month when he moves to the Middle East to take up a teaching post in Dubai.

Watling has been given a two year contract teaching PE in a brand new school for English speaking pupils in the United Arab Emirates, an opportunity he described as "too good to turn down."

He arrived at Hillheads from Team Northumbria last summer and was Whitley's top scorer last season with 29 goals. He is still training with the club and will be available for the first two league fixtures before flying out later in August.

Peter said that when he returns to the country in two years time he would be very happy to come back to Whitley Bay, where he has made many friends during his 12 months at the club.
