30/03/2010 - North Tyneside Team & Coach of the Year

While all eyes are on the Barwell tie Whitley picked up a couple of awards on Thursday night.
Bay Boss Ian Chandler was named North Tyneside Sports Coach of the year while Whitley Bay FC were also named Senior Team of the year.
Ian Chandler picks up his coach of the year award This is the second year for this now annual event and when we caught up with Chandler he was thrilled to have been honoured
"This year has been surprise after surprise. Absolutely delighted to win the team of the year, as for coach of the year, I must share this with my inner team, Cuggs, Gav and Pickers, it is a team within a team award."
The awards are designed to celebrate the sporting achievements of individuals and clubs across North Tyneside and Bay's 2 awards are part of 12 dished out on the night, for Juniors, Volunteers, Disabled and general contribution to North Tyneside's Sport.
Ian Chandler also won the Football Writers Association (North) Special Award back in November as the club continues to receive recognition for last season's achievements.
