As the Whitley Bay Women brought a hugely successful season for the club to an end with a superb penalty shoot out win over Newcastle in the Senior Cup Final, we would like to say thank you to our fans. This week has seen you travel to London in great numbers to support the club and then over 1,200 turn up for a match to raise funds for Mark Taylor and MND, a subject naturally very close to our hearts. Nearly £8,000 was raised on the night and we are still getting more money in. It was also a wonderful gesture from the fans and chairman of Glossop North End to make the trip, another sign of the great spirit that exists between clubs, fans and players at this level of football. Over recent months, we’ve seen collections for Mark at many of our opponents grounds, and these are all great appreciated by the club, the impromptu collection from the Barwell team ahead of our Semi Final, the raffles at Ashington and the League Cup Final to name just a few. We recorded a few interviews on Tuesday night and these are now available on WBFC-TV, along with the goals from Wembley and Chan’s take on the day. Enjoy the close season, the site will continue to be updated with any developments over the summer. We will be aiming to come back even stronger for next year. Howay The Bay! MM
