Match Report By Peter Fox
Very brief one this due to not being able to do it till now. Bay dominated the first half and Dean Douglas hit the post in the second minute, before Paul Robinson shot straight at Paul Newton.
The woodwork came to Nissan's rescue again a few minutes later when Mark Taylor's 25 yard shot thumped against the crossbar. Paul Chow netted the rebound but was offfside.
Newton took a Lee Kerr shot at the second attempt just ahead of Chow, before Gavin Cogden shot wide with Nissan's first chance. Nissan began to come more into the game after the first 20 minutes and Terry Burke procuded a fine save to deny Neil Radigan. The game swung from end to end but it was Bay who made the breakthrough when Robinson created space for himself with a faboulous first touch and curled the ball wide of Newton into the corner of the net on 44 mins.
The lead was short lived though as three minutes into the second half Lee Picton misjudged a header allowing Neil Tarrant to net. Justin Keegan hit the post with a header but Bay weren't finished and three times Chow was through on goal but was unable to but Whitley back in front. Twice he was denied by Newton and once he was off target. In between these chances Burke tipped a Cogden effort over the bar.
Nissan looked to have been denied a stonewall penalty when David Coulson appeared to foul one of their players but they took the lead a couple of moments later on 75 minutes when Ex-Bay player Ben Ryan was put through to shoot past Burke. Robinson had a free kick taken well by Newton and sub Robbie Livermore had a shot deflected wide but the winning run came to an end.
Bay: Burke, Taylor, Douglas, Picton, Coulson, Graham, Moore, Robson, Kerr, Chow, Robinson.
Subs: Minto, Cook, Livermore, Dugdale, Smith.
