I agree with pretty much all of that Fisheye.

I also think that there are times that incorrect information gets passed off as fact on the forum because no-one is correcting it.

I think it's highly unlikely that we'll get official responses to posts on the forum, so the next best thing from my point of view is to get periodic updates from the club to correct misconceptions and deliver news of interest to the fans. I hope we can achieve this.

Yes that's what I was referring to, so apologies if I've misinterpreted.

I know its been expoused that this isn't the place for "communication" to take place. That's something I have sort of agreed with in the past and I can see where that argument comes from. However, you have to move with the times. This is the club's official website, and as a sub-section of it the forum is now totally different from what it was 6 or 7 years ago. For example we have lots of new supporters who use it, (and the website generally) as a means of touching base with the club to catch up with what's happening. For our level of club, this is without doubt one of the best websites/forums around, and another excellent resource for those running the club to dip into.

It isn't the be all and end all, but it is one useful tool for the directors and employees of the club to keep in touch with their customers, read what they think, and get some ideas of what they want.

Re : Sparky - 02/07/2009 - man with a flan

If Lee moves on it will be with the best wishes of all BAY fans. Sparky has been a loyal and entertaining member of the BAY team. His goalscoring record and achievements over the years for such a young player will stand the test of time. He like everyone else wants to progress and an offer like Gatesheads dont come along that often for a local lad in a local team, in what is in effect the fifth division. If he stays im sure no one will be more pleased than everyone connected with the BAY.

This gets a mention on the BBC website
Bogie also revealed that the Blue Square North play-off winners are in negotiations with an experienced Football League striker and Whitley Bay striker Lee Kerr.

He said: "We won't be held to ransom or get involved in an auction [for Kerr], and if it doesn't come off we'll move on."

We were promised improved communication, and my expectation is that this promise will be delivered.
Are you referring to my comment in the rules thread, namely
I shall be working with members of the board to encourage communication through the official site
Or have you had that promise from elsewhere?

Encouraging communication is still something I am actively working on, but just to be clear, that wasn't a promise from the club, that was me acknowledging a common gripe and trying to do something about it.

One suggestion is resurrecting the old "mini-sites" that we had back in 2001/2(ish), if you recall from that time Derek and Andy Gowans had their own section on the site where they could add their thoughts etc, this generally pertained to footballing matters and from the offers I've had to date that's what they would again relate to.
